Clyde Basel invites stakeholders to walk the Vaal ahead of Grand Heritage day
“Many highly respected people place bets on horseracing and I am sure that they would be seriously offended by the suggestion that this would make them unsuitable to hold office. The suggestion that there is a relationship between betting on horseracing and integrity must be rejected outright.”
For the past 5 years Andy has served as a Director of the Racing Association and served on the NHA National Board as the Racing Association’s appointee during 2013. He is a member of the Appeal Board of the NHA. Andy has a great desire to ensure that the credibility of the NHA is beyond reproach.
In terms of the NHA Constitution, two Board members have been required stood down. In their place, the NHA has announced the addition of Steinhoff’s Johann du Plessis and local owner Andy O’Connor to the Board
After 1 year serving as Chairman, Adv Altus Joubert’s seat on the NHA board has come up for re-election. Owner, breeder and racing enthusiast Andy O’Connor is standing against him. NHA members in the central provinces are asked to please vote for your candidate by 15 November.
