Horizon has officially been retired and will stand at the Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud just outside Hermanus
Former SA Horse Of The Year Dynasty was saddled by Dean Kannemeyer to win the Gr1 Daily News in 2003
After a rather inauspicious debut, the record-breaking Horizon was a different proposition at Kenilworth on Tuesday
The SA auction record holder Horizon started a well-backed 22-10 fancy at Kenilworth on Wednesday but ran downfield in a quiet debut. The race was ironically won by a R25 000 ‘cheapie’
It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
