Vaal Runner Withdrawn After TC02 Test

Don’t they love just scoring own goals! Export of SA horses have just been given the green light to travel to the eu, and So called milkshaking gets policed all of a sudden! Most major racing jurisdictions internationally began controlling it in early to mid 2000’s. A Bit tired of Nha and there flexing!! You have one job, stop trying to reinvent it, just do it quietly and fairly for the good of all participants

What It’s Really Like to Buy a Record-Priced Yearling

Let's hear the Ipi Tombe story mr Bruss!
I notice she had Mr Prospector and Northern Dancer in her ancestry, as does the newly imported Drakenstein sire, A Case of You.
Not being knowledgeable on breeding, what does 2x2, 3x3 and so on mean in terms of inbreeding?

No Stopping The Candyman On Comeback Trail

I think the Candy man should hang up his boots. There's no place for "has beens" on a horses back. The NHAs focus should be grooming young up and comers. Andrew should rather offer mentoring support to the likes thereof or sit on a rocking pony and watch the sunset in

Robin you are indeed a magnificent story teller with an incredible depth of knowledge, a real treasure to Southern African Horseracing. Its a rare and special talent. To boot you are a gifted Orator also and there has never been a single occasion that I have not felt enriched by what you have shared, written and spoken.

Thank You for continuing to delight with your historical facts and intelligent opinions.

If you have written any books please let me know where it/they can be purchased. If you haven't published any why not!?! Please

New Specimen Process For Carbon Dioxide Testing On Raceday

Sorry on my previous posts, Its meant to read "last minute" surface changes.

These TCO2 tests are going to prove very disruptive to say the least.
However if I read the various posts it's happening globally already. Am I correct?
It really makes the exotics a lottery, especially if your banker is

New Specimen Process For Carbon Dioxide Testing On Raceday

Hi Geoff

See below:
BANZAI PIPELINE was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 15h40 revealed a level of over 35 TCO2. mmol/L. Assistant Trainer M Clarke acting on behalf of Trainer G B Puller was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Assistant Trainer M Clarke was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 15h52 had revealed a level above the international threshold of 36 mmol/L and that consequently BANZAI PIPELINE was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 16h08, 4/1 in the

The other thing I have never seen so many scratchings on a card (small fields already) except when there have been minute surface changes due to the weather.

It would be interesting to find out why Banzai Pipeline was scratched a few minutes before the last race on Thursday.
Maybe he was injured.
It plays havoc with exotics.
I heard a stable representative being called for a short while

No Stopping The Candyman On Comeback Trail

The great Lester Piggot retired in 1985, took up training and saddled 37 winners. Then the taxman caught up with his tax affairs and he spent a year in jail.
Not daunted at all, he again pursued his career as a jockey at the age of 55 and won the Breeders Cup mile within 10 days of his return.
We also had Frankie Dettori announcing his retirement 10 months in advance last year, with spectators flocking to the race courses to see him in action for the last time on his 'world farewell tour' - only for Frankie to change his mind when it came to the crunch. Frankie, as everybiody knows, was suspended in 2012 for a period of 6 months, following the detection of a banned substance in his system.
It seems like a case of once a jockey, always a jockey!

Sucking up to the vaalies, I see ! Even sorry for the Peter yard, you came back from a short break, soft, lol

Fredrick allowed his own opinion. Candyman will make a comeback, but going in guns blazing with lawyers, hell I hope it's the right approach

Last chance Saloon, " what deserve a 2nd chance ", after this one he would have used up all 9 lives...

But, a Good Jock in his hey day and comedian at interviews.
