South African horseracing is in a crisis on so many fronts and yet the National Horseracing Authority continue on their merry way – amongst others, ignoring jockeys and trainers pleadings on attending to start processes.

Chief amongst the ‘don’t care a damn’ brigade appears to be the KZN Starting Crew, who have a history and appear to be as concerned about punters money as the NHA CEO and Racing Executive.

The days of snazzy mission statements and gushy monthly newsletters is surely over.

On Wednesday at Greyville, SA champion jockey Antony Delpech had his say after getting the favourite Pure Logic up to win the seventh.

Leading trainers and jockeys have been increasingly vocal about the National Horseracing Authority in recent months.

Something surely has to give.

Gold Circle and Phumelela need to have the backbone to join their stakeholders and say enough is enough.
