Jockey Declaration Under Investigation

Happy Girl - unhappy punters

A jockey declaration at Kenilworth on Thursday 15 November will be investigated by the Stipes.

Jockey Robert Khathi was stood down on medical grounds and replaced on all of his rides on the day.

The engagement under investigation is that of Jockey Devin Ashby, who rode the Candice Bass-Robinson trained Happy Girl in the fourth race.

The Ashby declaration is recorded as having been made at 12h30 on the raceday.

However, Anton Marcus had been announced as the replacement on Happy Girl much earlier in the day.

The Sporting Post was approached by unhappy punters who had been influenced by the Marcus engagement.

A Tellytrack spokesman has confirmed to us that their announcements in the course of the morning of 15 November, and the information disseminated to the public, was based on the official declaration of Marcus, and that they had not made an error but had acted on official information.
