The gambling industry in South Africa could grow at a compounded rate of more than 5% to reach nearly R35 billion by 2021 and this growth requires a dialogue between stakeholders to lead to an effectively regulated and economically sustainable gambling industry.
The National Gambling Board (NGB) is hosting a 2-day conference on 18-19 July 2019 in Pretoria, under the theme, ‘The Gambling Regulators’ and Operators’ Dialogue’.
The NGB wishes to showcase the organisation, as a leader in the gambling industry, by sharing results of the latest research studies and encouraging discussions about the regulation of gambling with its stakeholders.
The aim of the conference is to:
- Expose latest trends, developments, challenges, best practices and happenings in the gambling industry
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common future goals and objectives
- Network with peers to identify valuable resources for referrals and best practices
- Deliver a platform for mutual discussions of common interests
- Gain new insights, approaches and broad the depth of knowledge relating to gambling
- Connect with other stakeholders active in the gambling industry
- Offer an exhibition platform for industry players to introduce latest technology and tools
Delegates are expected from national government, the dti agencies, national and provincial gambling regulators, gambling operators and shareholders, manufacturers, test laboratories and associations in the gambling sector, such as the Casino Association of South Africa (CASA), Bingo Association of South Africa (BASA), South African Gambling Manufacturers Association (SAGMA), Limited Payout Industry, and others.
