Braam’s Quiet Quintet

Career first five-timer for Yvette

Yvette Bremner – Top training feat

Fairview trainer Yvette Bremner enjoyed a red-letter day at her home course on Friday when she saddled a career-first five timer, with longstanding owner Braam van Huyssteen a partner in all of the quintet.

Yvette, who started on her own in November 2002, has hit peak form in recent weeks with Cape jockey Richard Fourie instrumental in getting most of them home. This was again the case on Friday, with Fourie guiding four and Wayne Agrella rounding off the day on Open Fire.

Heart Stone, Wind Finder, Sir Frenchie and Rebel Wilson were Fourie’s quartet and he now stands on 33 winners at a strike rate of 25% and in fourth place on the national log.

Van Huyssteen, whose dual SA Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle will step out in the Cape Summer Season again, has enjoyed a great run in the Eastern Cape.

He could also have a runner in one of Australia’s biggest races in Saturday’s A$5 000 000 Gr1 Stella Artois Caulfield Cup.

Mustajeer and Raheen House are the two horses in which Van Huyssteen has an interest.
