Hawwaam Won’t Run On Thursday

No bonus this week for Vaal punters

The likely highly anticipated reappearance for the second week running of Mike de Kock’s bomb Hawwaam, who accepted to run in a 1400m Pinnacle Stakes at the Vaal on Thursday, won’t happen.

The champion son of Silvano was withdrawn on Monday afternoon for reason of ‘insufficient recovery time’.

A forgettable late scratching from the Vodacom Durban July – that’s the last time we will mention that event – Hawwaam  went into the starting stall like a lamb last Thursday at his first run as a 4yo, broke on terms and ran out a very easy winner of a 1200m Pinnacle Stakes.
