Sizzling Summer Challenge Reaches A Climax

Now - get ready for a Sizzling Punters' Challenge!

The prize giving for the Jockey, Trainer and Owner Sizzling Summer Challenges Winners will take place, in the Short Head Bar at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday after the final race.

All punters, owners, trainers and jockeys are invited to attend the function.

The Summer Challenge points system, based on the number of runners in each race, has seen an increase in field sizes and with prize money of R250 000, shared by the top six finishers for each category, the competition generated amongst trainers and jockeys was intense.

Warren Kennedy and Garth Puller lead the jockey and trainer leader-boards respectively, while the Paul Lafferty trained Bint El Malak tops the horse leader-board. However, all six top positions are still wide open as the competition heads into its final week with racing scheduled for Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday and night racing at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday.

At the prizegiving, Hollywoodbets and Gold Circle will announce the launch of an exciting Sizzling Punters’ Challenge, which will see R100 000 up for grabs for Punters in the month of March.

The competition, which will run on a similar, but enhanced, points-scoring system as the Sizzling Summer Challenge, will have punters vying for race-meeting prizes and the overall monthly jackpot prize.

More information can be found on the companies’ websites www.tabgold.co.za and www.hollywoodbets.net

Figures at both Gold Circle and Hollywoodbets have shown a relative increase in bets taken and stakes invested on KZN racing throughout the past three months.

Based on this, the format whereby the carded horse number will reflect the barrier draw for all races in KwaZulu-Natal will remain in place for the duration of the Sizzling Punters’ Challenge.

Racing today is at Hollywoodbets Scottsville – first off at 12h00.
