Neil Andrews Health Shock

55 year old admits himself after chest pains

Popular Supersport and racing media man Neil Andrews will undergo a triple bypass operation at the Fourways Life Hospital on Tuesday.

The 55 year old admitted himself on Saturday evening after pains in his solar plexus became unbearable.

His Clocking The Gallop partner Nico Kritsiotis told the Sporting Post that he was hoping to get an update from Neil later today.

“This is a shock for all of us and is an indicator of the stressful times under which we are all living. But Neil is a positive person and a fighter. I may get an opportunity to chat to him later today and will keep the Sporting Post readers updated,” added Kritsiotis.

In June Neil Andrews spoke in a Sporting Post interview about trying emotional and financial times following the Covid-19 impact on sport and horseracing.

But he pointed to the ‘abundant blessings’ provided by his family.

He is married to Hlohlo and they have their own ‘Brady Bunch’ – Elijah Gabriel Andrews is ten months old, Noah Benjamin is 2, and Brighton Nathaniel is 7. Neil also has a 23 year old daughter Melissa Jade and son, 19 year old Gregory Scott.

Good luck Neil!
