Please Give This Dam House A Name!

Lake House is a bit spine tingling...can you do better?

After last year’s highly successful name-the-filly competition, Riverton Stud are offering Sporting Post readers another terrific opportunity to win some time away in paradise by coming up with a unique descriptive name for their new Dam House.

“With the ever changing moods of the sky reflected in the dam water, we just had to create the perfect couples hideaway or writers retreat to enjoy this view,” enthuses Natasha Barry as she thanks regular Barry House on Riverton Stud guests who have shown such keen interest and given their input since they first started the new accommodation project in October 2019.

“With none of the olde world charm of Barry House we decided to do a modern renovation to what was once an uninspiring cow shed built in the 1950’s. We plan to open in time for Valentine’s Day but need a descriptive name by 25 January 2021. Calling it the Dam House is obviously not ideal and the Lake House was a spine-chilling thriller. Last year your readers came up with some brilliant names for a filly, so we hope they can come up with a great name for our new guest house. We need your help, please!” Natasha told the Sporting Post as the Robertson sun shone brightly on the beautiful farm.

Designed for comfort and relaxation the L-shaped lounger affords a view over the dam and the bespoke TV unit. To the right of the dining room table there is an indoor braai for chilly winter evenings and an outdoor gas braai in the enclosed courtyard accessed via the stackable doors.

Who needs an oven?

The kitchen is equipped with a healthy Air Fryer, induction hob, toaster, snackwich maker, juicer, coffee station and a microwave/griller and a fridge/freezer both in the latest black mirror finishes. An integrated dishwasher is hidden adjacent to the sinks and a reverse osmosis unit provides pure filtered drinking water.

These ceiling fan lights with speakers have got to be the coolest thing!

They are all Bluetooth enabled so you can select the appropriate music from the playlist on your phone and decide whether you want to change the cool white or bright light to a warm white to set the mood. The remote controls the speed of the retractable fan blades.

There are USB ports to charge your phone setting within the shelf of the bedside tables and flexible reading lights can be adjusted for good bedtime reading.

The bespoke leather king will ensure a peaceful sleep as you are cocooned in the Simon Baker hypoallergenic microfibre duvet designed to keep you at the optimal temperature.

You have the choice of a firm bamboo pillow or a softer microfibre hypo-allergenic pillow.
