SA Champion jockey Lyle Hewitson, who only came out of his time a week ago, booted home his first four-timer as a fully fledged professional rider when dominating the show at Fairview on Friday.

Lyle Hewitson – bang in form
Hewitson, who followed in the golden bootprints of recent SA Hall Of Fame inductee Michael Roberts by lifting the SA title while still an apprentice last season, was in a rampant mood as he struck four-times for the Yvette Bremner team.
His first winner was the long suffering maiden bridesmaid Zalika, who finally got out of the number 2 box.
He followed up with the consistent Laws Of Succession and then the class 3yo National Park, who is a likely candidate for the SA Triple Crown first leg, the R1 million Gr2 Gauteng Guineas to be run at Turffontein on 2 Fenruary. Entries close on Monday 21 January.
Coyote Creek completed his four-timer when charging home from near last to win the seventh.
The Avontuur-sponsored Hewitson also rode a double at Kenilworth on Thursday and now moves into fourth position on the national log with 81 winners at a strike-rate of 16%.
He is carded to ride dual SA Horse Of The Year Legal Eagle in the Sun Met on Saturday 26 January.
