BSA August 2yo Sale – Catalogue Online

A bumper catalogue again

Fresh off excellent results at both the National Yearling Sale and KwaZulu-Natal Yearling Sales, Bloodstock South Africa have announced that the catalogue for this year’s August Two Year Old Sale is now online and can be viewed live at www.bsa.co.za

This year’s August Two Year Old Sale is set to take place at the BSA complex in Germiston, with the two day auction due to take place on Friday August 26th and Saturday August 27th respectively.

Last year’s August Sale saw a full-brother to star filly Desert Miracle top the auction when that Dynasty colt was knocked down to Form Bloodstock for R1 200 000.

The colt, named Herero Secret, was consigned by Wilgerbosdrift, and the breeder of recent Gr1 Hollywoodbets Durban July winner Sparkling Water has another strong draft on offer at this year’s August sale.

Among the recent alumni of the  2YO Sale are such notable graded stakes winners as Lady Of Steel, Nourbese and Out Of Your League, while past stars sold off this auction include all of Asylum Seeker, Bela-Bela, Jackson, J J The Jet Plane, River Jetez, Rock Opera and The Apache.

Perennially successful sires represented at the 2022 August Two Year Old Sale include all of Duke Of Marmalade, Flower Alley, Gimmethegreenlight, Ideal World, Master Of My Fate, Oratorio, Pathfork, Pomodoro, Querari, Rafeef, Silvano, Twice Over, Var, Vercingetorix, Visionaire and What A Winter, to name but a few.

Excitingly, Australian star galloper Helmet, whose progeny include dual G1 Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow, has two lots on offer, while young sires represented by members of their first local crop of two-year-olds include Danon Platina,  Fire Away, Hat Puntano, Heavenly Blue, Horizon, Lancaster Bomber, and New Predator.

This year’s catalogue looks to be an outstanding one indeed, with a few potential standouts including:
