Plenty of horses racing in different countries at similar periods share names, but it is hard to think of another recent incident when two identically named horses won feature races on one weekend!
It is a well documented fact that a good horse can come from anywhere. Many top horses have been imported into this country, while others are raced by their breeders, or sold privately.

SARAH WHITELAW: When Fox Hunt won Sunday’s German St Leger he became the second German classic winner produced by Dubawi’s second crop. The stallion’s other German classic winner had previously been Waldpark (Deutsches Derby).
LANCE BENSON: Next weekend sees the running of South Africa’s richest race on sand, the Gr2 Emerald Cup.
ROBYN LOUW: I know there have been some comments about the fact that I am a relative new-comer to racing journalism. I believe it has also been said that few people in Gauteng have heard of me.
I am not particularly perturbed by either of these statements
SARAH WHITELAW: There is a saying in racing that if a stallion dies his progeny comes good. Like many sayings, it is rather tongue in cheek.
