Hollywood Syndicate In Feature Winning Form

Another feature strike for Gimmethegreenlight

An astute call to revert to the sprints paid dividends for trainer Candice Bass-Robinson as she provided the Hollywood Syndicate with their first Cape feature success, courtesy of Gimmethegreenlight daughter Going Up, who impressed with a sweeping victory in the R150 000 WSB Bet With The Best Listed Olympic  Duel Stakes.

The lightly raced 3yo was bred by Ridgemont Highlands, and is leased by the Hollywood Syndicate. It was a milestone victory, as she is also Candice’ first horse for the powerful KZN-based yellow and purple syndicate.

Described as something of a tough cookie to condition and a classy sort who gives her trainer sleepless nights and headaches, Going Up was easy to back at 13-2. Coming from some way off the speed under the Winning Form-sponsored Keagan de Melo, she carried too many guns for a class line-up and went on well to Major Attraction (17-2) by 2,25 lengths in a time of 74,48 secs for the straight 1200m.

Snaith rounded off the trifecta with the consistent Phil’s Dancer (10-1) holding out Walk Of Fame for third, in something of a minor Place Accumulator knock.

Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, the winner was another feature success on the sunny afternoon for Varsfontein sire Gimmethegreenlight (More Than Ready) and is out of the eight time winning Goldkeeper mare, Raise The Bar.

Going Up has won 2 races with 3 places from 7 starts for stakes of R185 750.
