The first race at Hollywoodbets Durbanville is off at 13h15

Eight races are carded at Hollywoodbets Durbanville this afternoon. The Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge gives you another chance to win and if you finish in the top 20 on the leader board, you can win your share of R5000. The first is due off at 13h15.

Candice Bass-Robinson saddles Max The Otter in Race 1 and he is the best bet on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He received a bump leaving the start and despite shifting away from the crop in the closing stages, the manner in which he stayed on was encouraging.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and will love the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

Impetuos from the Vaughan Marshall yard takes his place in Race 4. He ran a fair race on debut over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He was green in running, but stayed on to finish fifth. The son of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and will love the step up to 1800m. S’manga Khumalo steps into the irons and with the natural progression that is expected, he should go close to winning.
