Interference – Sean Veale Suspended

Veale pleaded guilty and was found guilty of the charge

The National Horseracing Authority of Southern Africa (NHA) confirms that at an inquiry held in Durban on 9 June 2025, Jockey Sean Veale was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7.

The particulars being that as the rider of Little Suzie, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to Rainbow Lorikeet (Andrew Fortune) during Race 6, at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse on 24 May 2025.

Jockey Veale pleaded guilty and was found guilty of the charge.

After considering all the factors in mitigation and the status of the race, the Tote Gr2  Woolavington 2000, the Inquiry Board imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of ten (10) days.

Jockey Sean Veale was given the Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed.
