Kenilworth Abandoned

Kenilworth meeting for 1 September abandoned

Gold Circle have advised that today’s meeting has been abandoned due to unsafe underfoot conditions on the turn.

Clear skies greeted Capetonians this morning on the first day of spring and after last weekend’s Saturday meeting going ahead,  the news has come as something of a surprise. Is the catch-22 of racing against all the odds in the last two meetings coming back to bite?

A reminder for punters that Wednesday’s 5 September Durbanville meeting has been moved to Kenilworth.

Local racing goes ahead at Turffontein today.
