Chase Maujean was at the top of his game at Turffontein on Saturday.
His hat-trick included a Gr2 win and a hard fought Listed success in the Racing Association Handicap – the longest race on Summer Cup day – on the 7yo mare, Bondiblu.
The final leg of the record-breaking Pick 6 produced a grandstand finish as two girls took on the opposite sex.

Going into the final 200m, it was any one of Ali Bon Dubai (4-1), Factory Fifty (7-2) and the flying Bondblu (7-1), but Maujean had timed it sweetly and the 7yo picked up a deserved first stakes victory when she got the better of Ali Bon Dubai by a quarter length in a time of 208,82 secs.
Factor Fifty stayed on 0,75 lengths back in third.
Trainer Weiho Marwing has been through a quiet patch but he has few peers getting them ready to win over ground. The mare was formerly with the late Stan Ferreira.
A R100 000 Cape Premier Yearling Sale graduate, Bondiblu was bred by Vanree Stud and is by stakes winner Seul Amour (Zabeel) out of the five-time winner Blue Paradise (Jallad).
Bondiblu has won 9 races with 18 places from 52 starts for stakes of R887 975.
The Pick 6 paid a mouthwatering R5 016 220,50.
