The Gold Circle AGM held early in February clearly demonstrated that the WC and KZN chapters are not happy bedfellows. The Western Cape unanimously voted in favor of a divorce, barring three WC votes against. To no avail.
The Chairman faltered through the process by ignoring any debate around all the resolutions. Peculiarly, no discussion was asked for on the Annual Financial Report which reflects the septic position Gold Circle finds itself in. The voting process was done in a haphazard way, and no scrutineers were appointed to independently verify the voting process and results. The results were rushed through in percentages, without qualification of the numbers. This has now resulted in a re-audit.
The local election results in KZN reflected continued white dominance, and not a single Indian nomination was successful. It appears that the only (co-opted) Indian on the Board is merely used as window dressing.
