PE Jock’s 45 Day Suspension

Prejudiced his chance of first place

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held in Port Elizabeth on 12 January 2021, Jockey Xolane Ndlovu was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3.

The particulars being that he failed to ride BROADSIDE out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in Race 5 run at Fairview Racecourse on 1 January 2021, thus prejudicing his chances of obtaining 1st place.

Jockey Ndlovu pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Inquiry Board found Jockey Ndlovu guilty as charged and imposed a penalty of a suspension from riding in races for a period of forty-five (45) days.

Jockey Ndlovu has the Right of Appeal against the finding and the penalty imposed.
