Arch-rivals See It Again and Charles Dickens headline a 16 strong entry for South Africa’s most prestigious weight-for-age mile.

This historic contest was first run in 1861, when Queen Victoria donated a silver plate and 500 sovereigns to the winner.

The race produced a massive upset earlier this year when 80-1 rocket Al Muthana pipped local hero Charles Dickens.

Supplementary entries close at 11h00 on Friday 22 December, with declarations due by 11h00 on Thursday 28 December.
