A World Cup Rugby Fan Zone, which includes a beer garden and many screens, will enable sports fans to revel in Racing and Rugby at Durbanville racecourse from this Saturday, when the Boks take on Japan in their RWC opener.

There was a sizeable crowd at the country course last Saturday and the ‘Big D’ will form a festive background to a mix of racing and rugby that lies ahead.

There is nothing like sport and a flutter or two to bring people together  on a fun day out so this is an innovation which is likely to be a hit in the Cape Town vicinity, especially considering there will be entertainment provided for the kiddies.

The dates to diarise, upon which days a Durbanville racemeeting will coincide with a live World Cup rugby match, are:

September 19 – SA VS Japan

September 26 – SA VS Samoa

October 3 – SA VS Scotland (Also Kuda Day: Gr3 Kuda Matchem Stakes)

October 7 – SA VS USA

October 10 – Australia VS Wales

October 17 – Quarter final

Gates open at 11h00 and entry is free.

Those wishing to pre-book a table in the Beer Garden will receive a complimentary drink on arrival.

Bookings can be made by calling: 021 797 6037
