The only other horse this century – beyond Do It Again – to score back to back July victories
El Picha, the little horse with the big heart and never say die attitude, has died peacefully at his home in Randjesfontein at the age of 22
If it could be possible, I think that second July win was even better than the first.
A man we are privileged to have known as a loyal friend of this great game and of the Sporting Post, a personal mate, and one of South African horseracing’s great characters, Shaheen Shaw, a husband, loving Dad and Grandad, passed away suddenly at the age of 55
