LANCE BENSON: Three cheers to the Racing Association for introducing the 25 year industry service awards to long-suffering trainers who make up the survivor base of this industry.
Following up on her success in the Gr3 Three Troikas, Go Indigo took another step up in class and emerged narrowly victorious in the Gauteng Fillies Guineas on Saturday.
Leon Erasmus is no stranger to winning races, but he is one of those trainers who ticks along with (at best) average stock in small races and seldom gets the opportunity to hit the high notes. He has a decent sort on his hands in the form of Go Indigo, though, and on Saturday she rewarded the yard with a welcome success.
