Pomodoro – whose name means nothing more glamorous than “tomato” in Italian – looks like a force to reckon with in the upcoming Gauteng Triple Crown races. Despite seemingly being rejected by stable jockey Robbie Fradd in favour of Heavy Metal, Pomodoro romped to an impressive success last Saturday.
Highly rated Potala Palace will put his reputation to the test in the Dingaans on Saturday, but he crosses paths with the only horse to have beaten him – Straw Market. It promises to be the most informative race on the Sansui Summer Cup card
