The penultimate fully professional racemeeting on the Vaal sand track is being held on Tuesday. The racing operator then throws a R680 000 bone to owners and trainers, with an eight race workrider meeting restricted to maidens bringing the curtain down on Thursday.
My suggestion would be to cut the shorter straight and narrow the sand course, then widen the turf and we will have better racing and less pressure on track staff because there will be a lot less maintenance
