Hawwaam’s Back On Saturday!

It’s a big weekend of feature racing ahead!

It’s a big weekend of feature racing ahead, starting with the East Cape Nursery and Milkwood Stakes, both Listed events, at Fairview on Friday and rounding up with the launch of the SA Champions Season at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.

Sandwiched in between on Saturday, Turffontein will host three feature races from Champions Day originally scheduled for 4 April – the Gr1 SA Derby over 2450m, the Gr1 HF Oppenheimer Horse Chestnut Stakes over 1600m and the Gr2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks over 2450m.

Paul Peter’s undefeated star Summer Pudding bids to win the SA Triple Tiara when she contests the last-mentioned race.

The other races postponed from Champions Day will be run at Turffontein on Saturday 27 June, including the Gr1 Premier’s Champions Challenge, the Gr1 Computaform Sprint and the Gr1 HSH Princess Charlene Empress Club Stakes. Other feature races that day comprise the Gr2 SA Nursery, SA Fillies Nursery and Camellia Stakes and the Gr3 Gold Bowl.

The SA Champions Season in KwaZulu-Natal will kick off on Sunday on the Hollywoodbets Greyville turf track with the running of the Gr2 Independent On Sunday Drill Hall Stakes plus the Gr2 WSB Guineas and WSB Fillies Guineas.
