Hollywoodbets Durban July Favourite Steps Out Today

First due off @ 12h30

Racing is on the turf track at Hollywoodbets Greyville today.

Eight races have been carded.

Don’t forget about the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 12h30.

The Hollywoodbets Durban July 2024 first entries will be unveiled this coming Wednesday and big race joint  favourite Mucho Dinero returns after a 15 week break when he runs in the fourth race, a Pinnacle Stakes.

Jonathan Snaith said that in the fourth race, their charge The Grey King has a fantastic draw and weight so should produce a good effort, despite taking on top horses, including the Hollywoodbets Durban July favourite, Mucho Dinero.

“While he is better over further, we do think he will produce a respectable opener in KZN,” he said.

He indicated that Mucho Dinero commences his prep for the Hollywoodbets Durban July and should run a reasonable race first time up at Hollywoodbets Greyville.

Snaith said that both Mucho Dinero and The Grey King have had one grass gallop at Hollywoodbets  Greyville, and are thus familiar with the track.

In the opener, the Snaith team saddled Dark Winter.

“If she isn’t too green, she will produce a top prep run. It’s her first time around the turn and over further, but we feel she’ll relish this extra trip. Her work back home has been consistently good,” added Jonathan.

Gavin Lerena rides Pilot Flame in the second (Pic – 4Racing)

Pilot Flame from the Harold Crawford and Michelle Rix stable takes her place in Race 2.

She showed good speed over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time but was outrun late.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and should have no issues with the rise to 1400m.

Pilot Flame jumps from a good draw of two and with Gavin Lerena taking the ride, in this field, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

Trainer Weiho Marwing sends out Soldier’s Eye in Race 5.

She was unlucky not to have won her last start as she was baulked for galloping room between the 400m mark and the 200m mark.

She finished 0.45 lengths behind Magical Flight in her penultimate run. She is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

The daughter of Rabada is having her peak run today and with luck in running, she can go one better.

Race: 2 No: 11 SILVER JUBILEE had a 161 day break due to being given time off to mature.
