Snaith Holds Key Today

First due off @ 11h35

Hollywoodbets Greyville plays host to a ten-race programme today.

There are three feature races; the Gr1 Daily News 2000, Tote Gr2 Woolavington 2000 and the Listed Lonsdale Stirrup Cup.

Don’t forget to take your free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 11h35.

Winner of the 2025 WSB Cape Town Met and SplashOut Cape Derby, Eight On Eighteen (Richard Fourie) takes his place in the Daily News 2000 today  (Pic – Chase Liebenberg)

Today’s talking horse, Hollywoodbets Durban July entry Eight On Eighteen from the Justin Snaith stable takes his place in the Gr1 Daily News 2000.

He stayed on strongly when second in the WSB Gr2 Guineas last time. The son of Lancaster Bomber won his previous two starts over this distance, both of which were Grade 1 races.

He will strip a much fitter horse and should be too good for this field.

Snaith also sends out Little Suzie in the Tote Gr2 Woolavington 2000.

She caught the eye when 2.75 lengths behind Mon Petit Cherie in the WSB Gr2 Fillies Guineas last time.

She was last turning for home and finished off her race strongly. Her mother, Oh Susanna won this race in 2018.

She should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and from her good draw of four, she may be the one to cause the upset.
