I extend my heartfelt condolences to close friends and supportive owners, Raymond, Paula and Lois Deacon, as well as to friends, (and part owners,) Lianne De Jager, Glen Mitchell and the whole team at the shattering loss of their beloved athlete.
My thoughts also go out at this time to colleague Glen Kotzen and family who were so close to this horse throughout his life.
I remember ‘BIG’ as a brilliant racehorse who won among others the Cape Derby,the Natal Guineas,the Daily News, the Gold Challenge, and of course, The Vodacom Durban July.
It takes a champion racehorse to achieve this, and he will no doubt live on as such in the memories of all who followed him.
