Avontuur Estate, the thoroughbred stud farm and winery on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West have confirmed the re-signing of highly rated jockey Greg Cheyne as one of their three racing brand ambassadors from Wednesday, 25 March 2015.

“I am privileged and grateful that Avontuur would consider me again after our previous relationship was cut short when I was offered the chance to further my career in Hong Kong and Singapore a few years ago, “ says Greg.

“The team at the Estate accommodated me with grace when this huge opportunity came my way, and it is a pleasure to be in the saddle again featuring this exclusive brand.”

After two-and-a-half years in Hong Kong and a further one-and-a-half in Singapore,  the Cheyne family is happily back in the Cape and Greg is  looking forward to riding here again under the Avontuur brand,  with his first race day in the new livery coming up on Wednesday at Kenilworth.

Avontuur Estate is happy to support one of  South Africa’s best jockeys and with Antony Delpech, MJ Byleveld and now, Greg Cheyne carrying the brand in some of the country’s biggest races, they look forward to many more highlights on courses from Cape Town to Durban and anywhere in between!
