Bantam Suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that at an inquiry held at the Vaal Racecourse on 8 October 2020, Jockey Craig Bantam was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3.

The particulars being, that in Race 1 at the Vaal Racecourse on 1 October 2020, he failed to ride the horse TIME TO COME out to the end of the race, thereby prejudicing his chances of obtaining third place.

Jockey Bantam pleaded guilty to and was found guilty of the charge.

The Inquiry Board, after considering the mitigating factors and taking Mr Bantam’s record into account, ruled that he be suspended from riding in races for a period of fourteen days.

Jockey Bantam waived his Right of Appeal against the penalty imposed and permission was granted for him to take his suspension from 16 October 2020 to 29 October 2020.
