Richard Fourie rides Menelaus in race 1 today (Pic – Gold Circle)

Trainer Glen Kotzen celebrates his 57th Birthday today, and he will be looking for a big run from Menelaus, who should give punters a good start to the day. He produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the polytrack. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was encouraging.

The son of Elusive Fort would have gained from the experience. Richard Fourie takes the ride and, in this line-up, he can shed his maiden tag.

Dean Kannemeyer saddles Ideal Act in Race 6. He was his own worst enemy over 1600m last time as he overraced in the early stages. He finished 0.8 lengths behind African Skyline, three runs ago.

He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. On best form shown, he is capable of returning to winning ways.
