Bold Silvano nominated for Dubai and Singapore

National Yearling Sale countdown

ASCOT FLAGBEARER NOMINATED FOR TOP RACES
Bold Silvano, who was sold for R300 000 by the Ascot Stud at the 2008 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale, has been nominated to both the Dubai Sheema Classic and Singapore Airlines International Cup. These are two of the world’s richest races!

Ascot, who consistently produce high-class racehorses, has its usual strong draft at the 2012 Emperors Palace National Yearling Sale. They have a draft of 16 blue blooded yearlings, and also two youngsters as agent.

Among the Ascot draft are sons and daughters of such top South African sires as Fort Wood, Tiger Ridge, and Jet Master. Ascot have some interesting lots on sale, by such top international horses Dylan Thomas, Rock of Gibraltar and Astronomer Royal.

One of Ascot’s star lots, no doubt, will be lot 342, a son of Lizard Island. The colt is a full brother to the ill-fated international star, Lizard’s Desire. The latter won the G1 Singapore Airlines International Cup, and was second in the Dubai World Cup.
No doubt, Ascot’s draft of 2012 will feature more star international performers.

Bred by Mr Hanna, Reign as Kings won Sunday’s feature race, the non black type Sentinel Stakes with the minimum of fuss. This was an impressive performance, as the colt was giving weight all round to some promising juveniles. The flashy chestnut, owned by Mr Koedyk, has now won his last three on the trot.
