Brace Yourself For Fourie At Fairview

First due off @ 12h45

An eight-race programme has been carded for the Fairview turf track today.

While the rain continues to fall this morning, at the time of writing, the decision was made to remain on turf for this racemeeting.

The main event on this programme is the Non-Black Type Friendly City Stakes which is run over 1800m.

Don’t forget to take the free-to-play Hollywoodbets Punters’ Challenge with the first due off at 12h45.

Trainer Alan Greeff sends out Splicethemainbrace in Race 5. She is unbeaten from five starts to date.

She returns from a well-deserved 16-week break which would have done her the world of good.

The daughter of Master Of My Fate is at her best over further but she is classy and should be too good for this field.

Regular pilot Richard Fourie, under whom Splicethemainbrace has won 6 from 6, retains the ride.

Free World from the Duncan McKenzie stable takes her place in the lucky last. She finished 1.3 lengths behind Cold Truth last time.

She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

She will be mowing down the frontrunners and with luck in running, she can return to winning ways.

The Enchanting Currency Of Fate

It is eerie to think that there would have been no Siren’s Call, Sound Of Warning, or for that matter Call To Unite, had fate not decreed that Enchanted Cove follow her dam to South Africa, and that Peter de Beyer had the foresight to return Elusive Fort back home from the States as well!
