Canford Daughter Unbeaten!

Gr3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud

Ridgemont Highlands’ five time Gr1 winning sire Canford Cliffs enjoyed a big payday on Saturday afternoon, when his four-year-old daughter Jin Jin captured the Gr3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud.

Under jockey Maxim Pecheur, the unbeaten Jin Jin made all and pulled clear to post a one and three-quarter length at the expense of the high-class Alson (a 20 length winner of the 2019 G1 Criterium International), with the talented filly Irska a further length away in third spot.

Out of the Okawango mare Josphiel, Jin Jin now has six wins from as many races to her name, with the filly’s previous triumphs including scores in the Listed Coolmore Stud Baden-Baden Cup and the Listed Grosse Hannoversche Stutenmeile.

Previous winners of the Prix Perth include the likes of Jim And Tonic, Cityscape, and My Dream Boat.

A group winner at Royal Ascot three years running, Canford Cliffs has 40 black type horses to his name, with his other notable performers this season including Italian classic winner Cima Emergency.

To date, progeny of the Irish 2000 Guineas winner have banked over $24 million, with Canford Cliffs also responsible for the group/graded stakes winners Cliff’s Edge, La Falaise, Fish River, Princess Asta, Painted Cliffs, Al Jazi, Most Beautiful and Princess Posh.

His first South African yearlings go on sale in 2021.
