Viewing of the 226 yearlings catalogued for Wednesday’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale commenced at 08h00 on Sunday morning with the first few visitors passing through the door.
One of the highly anticipated five first season sires with yearlings available is Ascot Stud’s Global View (Galileo), who has three offspring on the big sale and is receiving the kind of support breeder Ashley Parker could only have dreamed of in the prevailing economic climate.
Global View – exciting son of Galileo
Global View covered 134 mares in his first season and 106 in his second season and Parker says: “Breeders like the Galileo/Storm Cat cross in his pedigree., because it produces milers with good speed.We are very happy with what we’ve seen, the various inspectors have given Global View’s progeny high scores, they’ve been gobsmacked by the quality he has thrown. They are smart horses. Our CTS Premier Sale filly Global Appeal (Lot 189) scored a 9 ½ out of 10, she’s a half-sister to last Saturday’s Gr3 winner Storm Destiny, a beautiful black filly.”
“Our colt is Lot 66, Grand Escape, a big strong individual, a half-brother to sprinter Mary O’Reilly and the stayer Grand Silvano.”
The third Global View on sale is Lot 60, an unnamed colt from Klawervlei Stud from the family of Marinaresco, who won the July and has his first run next month in Dubai, and the well-performed Bulsara.
