Cape Stars Honoured

Trophies to be awarded - Durbanville 14 September

The Racing Association was not able to host events on the Highveld, in the Western and Eastern Cape for the 2020/2021 regional awards due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the impact of the level 3 lockdown and its related restrictions.

They considered it important though to honour the equine and human winners who entertained racing enthusiasts throughout the racing season.

The Western Cape winners are listed below.

Trophies will be  awarded to the winners at Durbanville on 14 September.

Equine winners:

Juvenile Male Of The Year:

Winner : Ambiorix – Owned by Burns Racing (Nom: David Allan), trained by Vaughan Marshall, and bred by Oldlands Stud

Juvenile Filly Of The Year:

Winner : Kailene – Owned by Messrs RG Hampson & RG Philps, Estate late Mr BA Schwegmann & Mr HF Schwegmann, trained by Glen Kotzen and bred by Mr PU van Schoor.

3 Year Old Male Of The Year:  

Winner:  Jet Dark – Owned by Messrs CT Crowe and N Jonsson, trained by Justin Snaith and bred by Drakenstein Stud (Nom: Mrs G A Rupert)

3 Year Old Filly Of The Year:  

Winner:  Captain’s Ransom – Owned by Mrs S Viljoen, trained by Justin Snaith and bred by Moutonshoek

Older Male Of The Year:

Winner:  Rainbow Bridge – Owned by Mr and Mrs M L P Rattray, trained by Eric Sands and bred by Wilgerbosdrift and Mauritzfontein
