The Gr.2 Betting World 1900 was run at Greyville Racecourse on Friday, 15 May. In a competitive field of 16 runners, the race turned out to be a dream result for visiting Cape trainer, Stan Elley, who banked the bulk of the prize money. He saddled the first and third placed horses.

Dynastic Power (Dynasty) put in a sterling performance holding off a gallant late run from Power King (Silvano) and Punta Arenas (Silvano) showed his wellbeing back in third. Points scored – 14, 9 and 6 respectively and an added 5 bonus points to the winner for paying over R15 on TAB GOLD.

There were a number of other point scorers over the past week with the most notable being Futura (Dynasty), winning a Pinnacle Stakes at Greyville Racecourse on Sunday, 17 May.

The next major point scoring race in the competition will be the first of the Bonus Races, the Gr.1 Tsogo Sun Sprint, worth 25 points to the winner, 14 points for second and 10 points for third. Also featured on the same day at Scottsville Racecourse, Saturday 23 May will be Gr.1 City Of Pietermaritzburg Fillies Sprint which is worth a total of 44 points.
