Charity Turf Challenge 2018

Track And Ball Gaming are again sponsoring the Charity Turf Challenge which kicks off on The Independent On Saturday Drill Hall Stakes Day, Friday 4 May, and finishes on the reinstated ‘Super Saturday’,  headlined by the Gr3 eLan Gold Cup, 28 July.

Dancer's Daughter

The Charity Turf Challenge, worth R100 000 to the winning entry, is an exciting competition that offers fans of the sport of horseracing a unique opportunity to test their skill – after all, racing is the “Intelligent Bet!”

The aim of the Charity Turf Challenge is to select a team of horses you feel are most likely to score points during the official period of the Champions Season.

A list of all the Graded races will be provided and whilst the emphasis remains on these feature races run in KZN, ALL winners throughout the country will be eligible to earn points.

Racing South Africa, the competition host, will provide a list of horses that are thought to be campaigning in KZN during Champions Season. Only horses from this list are eligible.

What’s new this year?

Firstly, based on fan feedback after last year’s competition, we have increased the number of entries per list from 10 to 12, but only the top ten point scorers from each list will be considered for the final point’s tally. Too often selections fall out of the running for any number of reasons and we hope that the increase to 12 entries will give entrants a greater chance of competing for the top prize.

Secondly, for the first time since the competition began, the Premier’s Champions Challenge Day will be included in the competition adding an interesting if not challenging dimension to this year’s CTC. This is because The Independent on Saturday Drill Hall Stakes meeting (including the Gr.2 Daisy Guineas) comes before the Gauteng finale which takes place on Saturday 5 May at Turffontein Racecourse. As racing fans will know, apart from the Premier’s Champions Challenge, the day features some cracking good races including another two Gr.1’s, the historic SA Derby and the country’s fastest sprint, the World Sports Betting Computaform Sprint. Additionally, there are another four Graded races offering fans a feast of big races on the opening weekend.

The final list of horses is expected to be available by Friday 13 April. To the best of its knowledge, Racing South Africa will attempt to keep players informed of horses that are NOT participating for whatever reason.

In addition to the FREE BONUS entry for every 5 entries submitted for ONLINE users (sixth entry is free), our title sponsor, Track And Ball Gaming, is offering NEW online account holders a betting credit worth R200 added to their first deposit (minimum deposit of R50). For more information about this promotion, please contact the Track And Ball team directly on: 031 314 1969 or email: [email protected] or visit the website: www.trackandball.co.za

As has been the case in past competitions, apart from the grand prize of R100 000 (R20 000 for second and R10 000 for third), there is also the very popular stand-alone prize of R20 000 for the entry that earns the most points on Vodacom Durban July Day only.

TabGold is again kindly sponsoring R10 000 worth of betting vouchers for the ever-popular weekly draw and the African Horse Sickness Trust is again the beneficiary.
