A total of 105 points was up for grabs in the Greyville treble feature on Saturday. In the Gr1 Daily News 2000, trainer Sean Tarry extended his commanding lead on top of the trainers log with French Navy (Count Dubois) winning a superb race and securing 20 points for his supporters.

Ertijaal (Hard Spun) put points on the board for his follows back in second and The Conglomerate (Lonhro) added to his tally back in third. Points scored, 14 and 10 respectively.

The second most popular selection in the competition, Majmu, was an unfortunate late scratching in the Gr1 Woolavington 2000. The race was won by an outsider in the competition as only 18 entries scored 20 points with Smart Call (Ideal World). Pine Princess (Captain Al) finished second and Trophy Wife (Tiger Ridge) was third. Scoring 14 and 10 points respectively.

In the Gr3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup, Solid Speed (Dynasty) continued his unbeaten run in KZN, winning three in a row and earning 9 points.

No points was scored for second as Disco Al (Captain Al) was not in the competition. Heart Of A Lion (Seul Amour) scored 3 points back in third.

The second bonus race in the competition, the Gr.1 Rising Sun Gold Challenge will take place this Saturday, 6 June at Greyville Racecourse and will also feature the Gr.2 Tibouchina Stakes and the Gr.3 Cup Trail, the three features worth a total of 95 points.

After the first month of the competition, the leader board is tightly bunched and it’s still a long way to the finishing post in the 2015 competition. There’s still plenty to play FOR including the R20 000 STAND ALONE prize on Vodacom July Day!
