Cheer For Fourie Today!

The first race at Fairview is due off at 12h35

Racing takes place on the polytrack at Fairview Racecourse this afternoon and eight races are carded.

The main event of the day is the Non-Black Type Founders Trophy over 1600m. The first is due off at 12h35.

Lady Chartouche from the Alan Greeff yard takes her place in Race 2 and she is the best bet on the programme.

She produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the turf. She lost two lengths at the start, raced green but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching.

The daughter of Vercingetorix returns from a 19-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She will love the rise to 1200m and if suited to the polytrack, she should be the horse to beat.

Hollywoodbets-sponsored trainer Cliffie Miller sends out Zig Zag in Race 4. He was doing his best work late when fifth over 1600m last time.

He finished 0.8 lengths behind Gold Rock that day. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can notch up his fourth career victory.

Please note that J Gates, W Agrella and JP V’D Merwe will not be riding today.
