Jamie Wins Court Bid

Back next week!

Champion Jockey Jamie Kah, who became the first rider of 100 or more Melbourne wins in a season, is likely to return to race riding as early as next week after the Supreme Court found in her favour.

Punters.com.au reports that her original three-month ban for a COVID breach occurred in late August and will expire at midnight on 25 November.

The jockey launched the Supreme Court challenge in October after being given an additional two months for being found guilty of lying to stewards.

Also in the original charges for gathering at a property in Mornington was Celine Gaudray, Ethan Brown, Mark Zahra, and Ben Melham, all who will be eligible to resume riding in the next few weeks.

Zahra, Melham and Brown withdrew appeals of their three-month suspensions and didn’t challenge the misleading evidence charge, while Gaudray pleaded guilty to the misleading charge and didn’t appeal the three-month ban.
