‘Swift And Brutal’ – Evans Leaves Dubai

All over for top racecaller

Australian racecaller Craig Evans is headed home after just one season in Dubai.

‘It was swift and brutal. Great experience in Dubai with some outstanding people’, tweeted Evans with a copy of his cancelled passport page.

Evans, who replaced Terry Spargo on the seasonal contract, is a well-respected figure in the industry and has a wealth of international experience spanning across three decades, which includes stints at prominent racecourses in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Japan and South Africa.

Evans, who returned to Australia after 9 years calling races in Singapore, was approached by the ERA to take up the seasonal position.

A career highlight for Evans was being invited to call two days of racing at Santa Anita in California – the home of the 2016 Breeders Cup.

He has not disclosed his future plans at this stage.
