The Gr.1 City Of Pietermaritzburg Fillies Sprint  and the Gr.1 Tsogo Sun Casino Sprint were run at Scottsville on Saturday, 23 May.

The latter is the first of the four bonus races* in the competition and in a highly competitive race, Captain Of All (Captain Al) showed his class with top weight, scoring 25 prized points! Gulf Storm (Sail From Seattle) finished second and Sheik’s Brashee (The Sheik) was third. Points scored:

In the Gr.1 City of Pietermaritzbug Fillies Sprint, Carry On Alice (Captain Al) put in the performance of her career to reverse the form with second placed Alboran Sea (Rock of Gibraltor) and Fly By Night (Jet Master) was third.

The next major point scoring race meeting in the competition will feature the Gr.1 Daily News 2000Gr.1 Woolavington 2000 and the Gr.3 Lonsdale Stirrup Cup worth a total of 105 points at Greyville Racecourse on Saturday, 30 May.

Only 15 points separate the TOP 50 in the competition.
