Soetendal Estate Are Ready

Sunday 31 October at Kenilworth Racecourse

Julia Pilbeam’s Soetendal Estate is an established and successful regular at the De Grendel CTS Ready To Run Sale, and with over 40 lots entered, her draft will be getting plenty of attention on Sunday, 31 October.

Julia wrote notes on her respective entries, as below:

Lot 2 – Pinch Hit (c) by William Longsword ex Between The Covers

Lot 2, Pinch Hit, is a colt by William Longsword from the Caesour mare, Between the Covers (she is a full sister to Gr 2 SA Fillies Classic winner Caughtintheslips). This colt shows a superb action, and is sure to set the standard for the gallops!

Lot 3 is William’s Impact – a powerful, well-grown William Longsword colt from a Dynasty mare. With his deep girth, good rein and short cannons, there is a lot to like about this colt.

Lot 4, I Like It Hot, is a very well-related What a Winter filly. Her half-sister, SA Champion Sprinter Via Africa, is the dam of recent Australian Grade 1 winner IN THE CONGO. This superb filly looks to have plenty of speed too.

Lot 4 – I Like It Hot (f) by What A Winter ex Bump ‘n Grind

Lot 6, Unnamed, by Royal Mo from Care to Dance (Smart Strike), making her a three-parts sister to recent winner When Fools Collide. She is a well-grown, beautifully conformed filly.

Lot 9, Unnamed, is an athletic Querari colt from a 4-time winning mare. With his good rein and strong gaskin, he is bound to be a popular choice with his flashy looks.

Lot 10 is Battery Path, a colt by sire-of-the-moment Elusive Fort. The first foal of the mare is already a 3-time winner, and this colt has tremendous scope.

Lot 6 – Unnamed (f) by Royal Mo (USA) ex Care To Dance

Lot 12, Noble Kingdom, is a William Longsword colt from an Oasis Dream daughter of Champion Sprinter Val de Ra. The dam has given this colt plenty of speed, and with his deep girth and strong hindquarter he is an exciting prospect.

Lot 16, Unnamed, a Pomodoro filly from Eva Tibbs, is a half-sister to the talented and unbeaten Paisley Park. She is a November foal, and has just continued to improve.

Lot 17, Unnamed, is a Twice Over filly with a pedigree that speaks for itself. She is from a full-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner and sire, Jackson. A November foal, this quick filly is progressing by the week.

Lot 17 – Unnamed (f) by Twice Over (GB) ex Field Of Light

Lot 23, Unnamed, is a strong, classy filly from the family of Zante and Helen’s Ideal. She is from the first crop of exciting young sire, Gold Standard, and should attract a lot of interest.

Lot 26, Lead Drummer, is a Futura half- brother to the exciting unbeaten three-year old, Prince of Fire. All the dam’s runners are winners, and this racy, athletic colt looks sure to add to her record.

Lot 27, Unnamed, is a William Longsword half-brother to Grade 2 winner, Caralluma, from a family packed with black type. He has a great action to back up his page.

Lot 28 is Hang Out The Stars, a beautifully topped Querari filly with a good action, from the family of Jet Aglow and Ghostly Galleon. The dam is 100% winners to runners.

Lot 30 is Landingonthemoon, an exceptionally good-looking Jay Peg colt from a Victory Moon half-sister to multiple graded race performers Magico and Magical Wonderland. Although there is a lot pf speed in the family, he looks to have potential to go over ground.

Lot 31, Highway To Hell, is a scopey colt by hot young sire Rafeef. His dam has 4 winners from 4 runners, and this colt could be her best yet.

Lot 26 – Lead Drummer (c) by Futura ex Joshua’s Mistress

Lot 32, Good Council, is an Oratorio colt from a full sister to multiple champion, Legislate. This strong, well put-together colt has an exceptionally deep girth, good substance, and improves by the week. I can only think he will be a trainer’s dream.

Lot 37, Unnamed, is a Pomodoro colt from a prolific winner-producing dam line. He shows an economical, ground-covering action.

Lot 39 is Imaginable, a William Longsword colt from a sister to three European black-type performers. This neat, muscular colt has an elastic action.

Lot 40, Street Outlaw, is a Master of my Fate colt whose dam (by Var) is 100% winners to runners. He is a powerful colt who looks precocious and quick, as can be expected from the family.

Lot 42, Turbo Power is a Twice Over colt from a Grade 3 winning mare; this is the immediate family of Sports Chestnut. This is a really athletic colt who will continue to improve.

Lot 43 is Maserati Roar – a big, beautifully balanced son of Rafeef from a Captain Al mare. This is an exciting colt, and with his potential should be a popular choice.

Lot 48, Trip To Mars, presents a chance to buy a Trippi colt. He is from a Grade 3 winning mare with an excellent page, and shows an effortless action.

Lot 49, Gimme The Best, is a colt by in-demand sire Gimmethegreenlight. He is a three-parts brother to top filly Gimme Six; his dam is 100% winners to runners. He is racy and supremely athletic.

Lot 52, Unnamed, is a Pomodoro filly from a half-sister to the very speedy Jo’s Bond. She has an elastic action, and is she is growing into a beautiful type.

Lot 55, Time For Love, is a Time Thief filly, a half-sister to black type performer, Ready Steady Go, and all the dam’s six foals are winners. She is a precocious, speedy filly that loves her work.

Lot 57, Unnamed. This Captain of All colt is from a full sister to Champion, Trademark. He’s a late November foal so has plenty of maturing to come, but is already a racy colt with a ground-covering action.

Lot 59, Love Island, a superb William Longsword colt, is a half-brother to Kiss Again, from the incredible Kiss of Peace family – this must be one of the best pedigrees on the sale. The colt is going to grow into a magnificent horse, and has a deceptively fluent action.

Lot 60, Unnamed. A Pomodoro colt from a half-sister to multiple graded race winner Mujaarib. This good-walking colt has scope, good rein, strong gaskin, and shows a workmanlike attitude to his work.

Lot 63, Music Is Life, is a racy, athletic Oratorio colt that has basically prepped himself for this sale. There is plenty of speed in this colt through his dam, a half-sister to A Womens Way and Ancestry. He just skips across the ground.

Lot 64, Unnamed. A Royal Mo colt from a half-sister to and Australian Grade 2 winner; her first runner is already a winner. This colt is a great combination of substance and athleticism, and is a good mover.

Lot 66, Unnamed. A good-looking Captain of All colt from a full sister to Singapore Champion Older Horse, Lizarre. He shows ability and is precocious in his work, but will develop into a magnificent three-year old.

Lot 67, Casino Ace, is a What a Winter colt that defines the terms ‘racy’ and ‘precocious’. He has a fluent, elastic action to go with his looks. He is out of a winning half-sister to the classy Grade 2 Demanding Lady, herself already the dam of two black-type runners.

Lot 100, Look Forward (unbroken sale): this filly is by Master of my Fate, sire of such top fillies as Sentbydestiny, Basadi Faith, Pretty Betty and, of course, Zarina. All the dam’s three foals are winners, with this filly’s half-brother Look For Hounds already having earned black type.

Lot 115, Ensuing (unbroken sale): this is a colt by William Longsword from a Fastnet Rock mare; this is the family of Imperial Stride and Count Dubois. He colt oozes quality, and is a good mover.

Lot 124, Desert Rose, is an athletic three-year old Futura filly from the family of Dancing Danzig, being sold to dissolve a partnership. She is a beautiful mover.

Lot 127 – Unnamed (c) by What A Winter ex Lost In Love (IRE)

Lot 125, Unnamed, is a three-year old William Longsword colt out of Winter Oaks winner, Cause to Believe (Caesour), from the prolific Izindaba female line. This colt has an impressive action, an excellent constitution, and is ready to get going.

Lot 126, Jazzagal, is a strong three-year old Twice Over filly. She is being sold to dissolve a partnership. Her Captain Al dam has brought speed and strength to this lovely filly.

Lot 127, Unnamed. An incredible opportunity to purchase a three-year old What a Winter colt who is ready to go; he is a magnificent specimen, racy and strong.

Lot 129, Unnamed. This attractive Pomodoro colt is a half-brother to multiple Swiss Champion, Ma Petite Folie, and his dam is half-sister to multiple Australian Graded race winners – an incredible family. He has an elastic action, and like many Pomodoros, will continue to improve.
