De Melo looking to win

After two legs of the inaugural running of the 3 leg series of the Qatar International Apprentice Jockey Invitation Races (QAJIR) the points for the top four stand as follows:-

RAZALI ZAWARI (SINGAPORE)         12 points
TIK HUNG SO (HONG KONG)             10 points
YOUSEF AL HAJRI (QATAR)               10 points
YASUKU KOKUBUN (JAPAN)               8 points

The final leg will be run today (1st March 2012) – a Thoroughbred Handicap (50 – 70) over 1850 metres – South African apprentice Kegan de Melo will be hoping to get himself on the boards after being beaten 3 lengths on his first ride in the 1st leg. He was well beaten in his 2nd ride. Today he rides NASR (FR) for leading trainer Alban de Mieulle, who is a winner of his last start in similar company.
