Centurion De Melo’s In Great Form!

The first race at Turffontein is off at 12h30

Racing takes place on the Turffontein Inside course this afternoon and eight races are carded.

Winning Form-sponsored jockey Keagan de Melo, which reached his season century at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday, has six rides booked with a couple of decent winning chances.

The first is due off at 12h30.

Johan Janse van Vuuren sends out Wind Water in Race 1 and he is the best bet on the card. He produced a promising debut effort when third over this course and distance.

He was slow into stride, understandably raced green but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that Mythical Dream has come out and won again since.

The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

Bonnaroo from the Mike de Kock stable may be the horse to close off the meeting. She ran a fair race in her comeback run over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course, against male company last time.

It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Rafeef would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. She takes a drop-in class and back against her own sex, she may be the one to side with.
