Dennis Drier saddles Fire Tonic in Race 1 and he is the best bet on the programme. He made the expected natural improvement when finishing second in his last start over this distance on the turf.

The manner in which he ran on at the finish that day was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Wylie Hall is a progressive type and is the horse to beat from barrier three.

Purple Nkanyezi from the in-form Garth Puller stable takes her place in Race 5. Her last three starts have been fair. She has won four times and finished second three times from ten starts over this course and distance.

The 6yo mare takes a drop-in class and gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Siphesihle Hlengwa. The Garth Puller stable is in fine form and she can notch up her seventh career victory.

  • The Bipot starts in the first race at 12h45
  • The Place Accumulator starts in the second race at 13h20
  • The Pick 6 starts in the third race at 13h55
  • The first Jackpot starts in the fourth race at 14h30
  • The second Jackpot starts in the fifth race at 15h05
